{"id":1193,"date":"2015-01-17T23:53:01","date_gmt":"2015-01-18T03:53:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marksisco.com\/blog\/?p=1193"},"modified":"2015-01-18T07:49:24","modified_gmt":"2015-01-18T11:49:24","slug":"simplify","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marksisco.com\/?p=1193","title":{"rendered":"Simplify"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Project 365 &#8211; Day 17<\/p>\n<p>As I walked into Katie&#8217;s salon today for a much needed haircut, the huge display of hair products caught my eye in the front window. \u00a0 It&#8217;s a large yet simple and organized array of bottles, jars, and colors.\u00a0 I knew a blog entry was looking me in the eye.<\/p>\n<p>This photo was taken looking out toward the huge front display window.\u00a0 No special lighting or setup was used, contrary to how it may look; only colorful bottles on a black shelf back lit by a flood of sunlight.<\/p>\n<p>While further considering this image and the process of taking it, I realized it&#8217;s not only the colorful nature of the contents that caught my attention, but also the simplicity.\u00a0 Simplicity has several synonyms:\u00a0 Clarity, purity, certainty, transparency, unambiguity.\u00a0 Each has a refreshing tone and implication.\u00a0 Each reminds me of the attributes and benefits of keeping things simple.\u00a0 Life.\u00a0 Goals.\u00a0 Priorities.\u00a0 Relationships.\u00a0 Wants.\u00a0 Needs.\u00a0 Hopes.\u00a0 Faith.\u00a0 The world is full of complications, many of which can rob or deceive us of the freedom to see and think clearly.\u00a0 One of my biggest challenges is not to over think or over complicate.\u00a0 Doing so often results in my overlooking the answer or blessing right in front of me.\u00a0 I like to think I&#8217;ve grown wiser to this with age, but it still requires a lot of worthwhile effort.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A devout life does bring wealth, but it\u2019s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God.
