{"id":2277,"date":"2017-05-30T20:56:45","date_gmt":"2017-05-31T00:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marksisco.com\/blog\/?p=2277"},"modified":"2017-05-30T21:02:35","modified_gmt":"2017-05-31T01:02:35","slug":"historic-downtown-norcross-the-other-side","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marksisco.com\/?p=2277","title":{"rendered":"Historic Downtown Norcross (The Other Side)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of my local favorite small town vignettes is Historic Downtown Norcross. \u00a0It is a very small train depot town from years past, replete with a handful of nice shops and eateries. \u00a0It has continued to improve with age over the past 20 years, thoughtfully blending\u00a0nearby\u00a0historic residential neighborhoods with new homes. \u00a0Many of the neighborhoods are a short walk from downtown and a nearby park, all reminiscent of the 40&#8217;s. \u00a0Lots of folks stroll the sidewalks with their family or significant other, and the town hosts \u00a0annual\u00a0events like\u00a0an antique British car show to arts festivals. \u00a0You get the picture &#8230; warm, friendly, inviting, and easily accessible.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years I&#8217;ve done several outdoor portrait sessions along the storefronts, railroad tracks, and neighborhood sidewalks. \u00a0Also, a favorite photo spot has been the\u00a0alley behind the main set of shops.<\/p>\n<p>This weekend I was on a casual motorcycle ride and decided to swing through town, not having been there in months. \u00a0I \u00a0hoped there <em>might<\/em>\u00a0be a Memorial Day parade or event\u00a0in the works, but this was not the case. \u00a0Things were &#8220;dead&#8221; on my early morning pass through. \u00a0So plan B &#8211; zip through the alley and see if there&#8217;s anything new and interesting to photograph. \u00a0Much to\u00a0my surprise, the old sleepy back alley had seen a facelift!
