{"id":2533,"date":"2018-05-13T19:29:33","date_gmt":"2018-05-13T23:29:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marksisco.com\/blog\/?p=2533"},"modified":"2018-05-15T16:43:49","modified_gmt":"2018-05-15T20:43:49","slug":"monroe-ga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marksisco.com\/?p=2533","title":{"rendered":"Monroe, GA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I launched out on a leisurely motorcycle ride before the 90F heat would hit. \u00a0Something, I&#8217;m not sure what, led me in a different direction than I would typically go. \u00a0Three quarters of an hour later I landed in Monroe, GA, the county seat of Walton County. \u00a0It&#8217;s an old, charming 19th century southern town near Athens, GA (home of the University of Georgia).<\/p>\n<p>Little did I know, Walton County (and therefore Monroe) has quite a history. \u00a0Walton County was created on December 15, 1818.
