{"id":655,"date":"2012-06-17T13:05:57","date_gmt":"2012-06-17T17:05:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marksisco.com\/blog\/?p=655"},"modified":"2012-06-17T13:07:58","modified_gmt":"2012-06-17T17:07:58","slug":"happy-fathers-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marksisco.com\/?p=655","title":{"rendered":"Happy Father&#8217;s Day!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Father&#8217;s Day to all you dads!<\/p>\n<p>My dad (affectionately called &#8220;Daddy Gene&#8221; by his grandchildren), was the best dad ever.\u00a0 He was salt of the earth.\u00a0 He loved to laugh and make others laugh.\u00a0 He loved his family.\u00a0 He thoroughly enjoyed life and his friends.\u00a0 Work did not seem a means to an end, but rather a part of his daily life that he set out to enjoy.\u00a0 He lived life to the fullest and was a joyful, happy person.\u00a0 He had a passion for animals, particularly his dogs and horses.\u00a0 Hunting was one of his favorite pass times.\u00a0 He loved to build things (and as a result, he was always an accident waiting to happen \ud83d\ude42 ).\u00a0\u00a0 A big highlight of my childhood was helping him build things, and spending his day off with him.\u00a0 What you saw is what he was &#8230; he was never pretentious or fake.\u00a0 He was ALWAYS giving to others, especially those who were down on their luck.\u00a0 His friendships were never based on status &#8230; his best friends ranged from the most affluent in town to others that were at the complete opposite of the economic spectrum.\u00a0 He was never perfect and he knew it, but he always valued the things that were really important.<\/p>\n<p>I miss you Daddy Gene!\u00a0 Thank you for being the wonderful father that you were.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_656\" style=\"width: 569px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-656\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-656\" title=\"DaddyGene_0135lr\" src=\"http:\/\/marksisco.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DaddyGene_0135lr-559x700.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"559\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/marksisco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DaddyGene_0135lr-559x700.jpg 559w, https:\/\/marksisco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DaddyGene_0135lr-817x1024.jpg 817w, https:\/\/marksisco.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DaddyGene_0135lr.jpg 1198w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-656\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gene Sisco<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Father&#8217;s Day to all you dads!
