Commitment
Project 365 – Day 18
Today 4 people committed their lives to Christ through baptism at our 11am service. These are powerful and moving moments. It takes enormous courage to commit to anything privately, much less publicly. Commitment often falls by the wayside, as we all know too well. Think no further than how you may (or may not) be doing with recent New Years resolutions. Somewhat ironically, a key theme of today’s study touched on this. The prescription is to re-enlist; that is to say, each day we must re-enlist in those things that we are truly committed to. Give priority to those that really count, not letting other less important things creep in and assume a higher priority.
This has subsequently triggered two thoughts: 1) May those who made the most important commitment of their lives today re-enlist this commitment each and every day, and 2) I thank God that He is completely committed to us, never failing to deliver on His promises.

“One Thing Remains“ ~ Jesus Culture
Higher than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant through the trial and the change
One thing… Remains
Your love never fails, never gives up
Never runs out on me
