Old School?
Project 365 – Day 41
I consider myself open to technology and its rapid change. I’m not a techno-geek by any stretch, but I readily embrace new technologies that bring efficiencies and new capabilities. Smart phones are just one example, and in my personal case, the iPhone 6 Plus is an amazing device.
However, one place I continue to struggle is dumping pen and paper. I use Evernote fairly frequently. It has a huge advantage, in that I can access the information from multiple devices virtually anytime and anywhere. I can quickly perform a search to find a topic or phrase. But there’s something about writing with a pen that remains familiar. It is easy and personal. I can more easily associate certain things with my handwritten notes. For example, I can recall the layout of a page or the way I wrote something, making it fairly easy to backtrack and find locate notes for a particular day or subject. Though not a doodler, drawing has its pluses. I also recently realized that it feels more considerate of others with whom I am meeting than having my face “behind” a computer screen.
Each has advantages. A wholesale switch to one eludes me, yet it is difficult finding the right balance for using both.

…like you – and I still have a hard time abandoning printing a hard copy of something!
Traditionalists like me struggle leaving paper completely behind although I do like Evernote immensely since my little brother Mark introduced me to it, , , journaling has been something I do all the time since 2000 and I’m now entering the world of sketching. I call it drawing but those who look at my drawings just walk away laughing, , , or crying.
Nice pen!!!!!!
Hey Bro. You are right! One of my favorite people gave me that pen. 🙂
